Highwind will be crucial in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3

The third and final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy may not have an official title, but the decision is near. Naoki Hamaguchi, co-director of Remake and director of Rebirth, confirmed in an interview with content creator Julien Chièze that he and Tetsuya Nomura (co-director of Remake and creative director of Rebirth) narrowed down the options to two. Hamaguchi stated (translation via @Genki_JPN on Twitter): "Tetsuya Nomura and I have narrowed it down to two, within the year we will decide which. Within this year it will be defined."

Housemarque hinted that Highwind will be a "key word" for the next RPG, confirming the central role of the airship. Hamaguchi had already acknowledged the importance of exploration on the map of Rebirth and stated to The Washington Post last year: "I definitely want to address the same as what is likely to be expected from our experience with Highwind to explore the world."

Square Enix aims to provide a new gaming experience and scale for players in FF7R Part 3, compared to previous titles. The experience should be even better, as Hamaguchi previously noted that the division of the remake into parts allowed developers to incorporate feedback from fans after each release: "The third game, again, should be a better experience because we have learned and know what people want and like."

The official title will be revealed soon, possibly signaling an appropriate game announcement.
