Nostalgia at 50 m/s
We already know that Brazilians are reign over retro racing game scenarios, but this one has a special place for being made by just one person and for achieving 90% ratings on Stream, initially released for PC in 2018, Slipstream, made by BlitWorks now brings a nostalgic and bold experience that many missed for consoles.
The games on which this type of retro racing game was based needs no introduction, but not all of them shined in the same way, SlipStream comes with dozen of tracks, five cars, and dozen different game modes to differentiate itself in the quantity, related to the quality of the process of having a little taste of all of this content, the game not only respects what inspires it but also came with a complete as responsive and precise gameplay, where you managing speed, turns and drifts keeps you vigilant to every turn, you can play alone or with four others in local multiplayer.
In an era where pixel art was the thing, it’s not easy to stand out, but the game knew which artistic styles to base itself on and which to avoid, resulting in art that honors the style and at the same time updates its visual to keep the game relevant, for all pixel art lovers this delight is doubled, and for those less sympathized with these styles, it does not bother to the point of distancing themselves from the game.
For the musical nostalgic ones, this game was concerned with bringing the strongly and assertively 80s and 90s beats, without leaning too much on sounds natively of 8 or 16 bits, Slipstream brings a soundtrack that reminds us of these ages without leaning on the audio quality characteristic of it, focusing on striking and iconic rhythms.
Dejavú, I’ve already been to this place before

Beauty in every pixel

On the beat

Boldness on the curves... of learning
At first, to run chaotically towards the horizon doesn’t seem complex, one thing is to run, another one is to win the race and this game requires you to invest time to master all its components, even with the help of different levels of difficulty, automatic drift, and the possibility to “rewind” you race, the game shows that it is possible to achieve a better precision with the training for those who are willing, if you are more causal you can enjoy the game quietly without much punishment.Veredito
