The consecration in Super Mario Party Jamboree | Review
The most complete of the franchise, countless things to be explored
For those who are big fans, just like me, there was a feeling of wanting more and being able to improve, since the creation of Super Mario Party and Superstar, it seemed like something was really missing. In the face of this, Jamboree comes to show that this vision was correct and that it was indeed possible to perfect the gameplay, achieving a perfect marriage between nostalgia and an excellent and noticeable evolution (bigger and better).
The game, as has been happening recurrently, is fully translated into your language, in this case Pt-Br, with jokes and a touch of refined humor that possibly non-Brazilians would not understand, I imagine this would happen if the game was in English (after all, who has never failed to understand a joke that possibly had a whole context behind it). Thus, the Mario Party series continues to be fun, with more than 20 characters who here overcome rivalry (or not) to marathon through various styles of games.
I must say, playing with friends and family is much more fun, although there are some modes that will only allow one player per console, there are many others that will allow playing by sharing the Switch. In addition, we have the online option to create an even more competitive dispute than just players against computers (which can be adjusted for difficulty).
Life is a party
The main and inevitable quality of Jamboree is the large number of games available for us to explore, in total, there are 112 mini-games to please all audiences, we will use logic, speed, and even old luck. These mini-games are distributed among 7 different modes on islands scattered throughout the map, which we will reach by balloon, they are: Air Adventures, Toad Factory, Rhythmic Kitchen, Task Journey, Minigame Marina, Bowserathlon, and Bowser's Anti-Brigade.
We will start in the central square, where we will receive a small tutorial from Toad, who will introduce us island by island, in addition, when selecting the mode, we will quickly receive an explanation on how to proceed in the game. All modes are reasonably fast, except for the classic Party, in which we roll the dice to move around the map, facing challenges and duels with the goal of collecting more stars and coins, this can take a while, depending on the number of players, a few hours.
Make no mistake, despite the large number of games, all are worth exploring, even if it's just a test in the Marina, where we will individually have access to all available mini-games, this is because Mario Party seeks to please all audiences, particularly, my favorites were the classic Party that I briefly mentioned and Bowserathlon, extremely fun!
Part by Part
Individually, I think it's worth mentioning each of the modes, so you have an idea of which one to venture into first, depending on whether you are playing solo, in pairs, or more. Starting with the Minigame Marina, where, as mentioned, we will have unrestricted access to many different modes, including a daily challenge, accommodating more than one player per console and also 2x2 pairs.
Peace will reign in the Rhythmic Kitchen, where there are no enemies, but all players are cooperating to make the dishes come out as perfect as possible and be evaluated by tough judges between 1 and 5 stars, you can play in multiplayer by sharing the console. This was actually one of my surprises, the name ''rhythmic'' makes a lot of sense, because if we notice the music in the background, the steps we take will follow the same rhythm, in addition, after some time, unfortunately, it became repetitive, but still worth a visit from time to time.
Continuing, the last two modes that can be played cooperatively, were Air Adventures, where we will transport characters through the islands of the scenario, being able to play up to two people. And, in addition, Toad's Factory urgently needs our help to produce items from the boards, in which we will have to really use our heads to solve the small dynamic puzzles that can only be passed with calmness and mutual help.
Alone as well, but beautiful on the track
All the modes mentioned above are fun and well worth exploring, especially with friends, however, the new online and single-player modes that appear in Jamboree are very striking, among them, I even found my favorite. Initially, the Task Journey will be what we generally associate with a ''story'', helping Kabek in various missions and going through mini-games.
Subsequently, the Bowser's Anti-Brigade is another mode that we can play with the machine or up to 7 people online to defeat the impostor Bowser, here we will have to cooperate to gather bombs and inflict damage on the giant every 5 rounds. Finally, my favorite mode was Bowserathlon, a kind of race where to advance through the houses we need to collect coins in the mini-games, taking 3, 5, or 7 laps on the board with up to 20 players. In the end, Jamboree has enough to hold your attention, whether in single or multiplayer mode.
The environment is clean
In terms of graphic and sound quality, I believe Nintendo is closing the Switch on a high note, the game is smooth, its art is beautiful, and the sound quality is even essential for some minigames (like the Rhythmic Kitchen). The environments are varied and I particularly became a fan of the shopping mall in Mario Party mode and also the scenarios of Bowserathlon.
Finally, Jamboree has everything to be another excellent name in this already established franchise, but which, for a good part of gamers, ''fell short'' in the last two releases. Here, you will be able to have your attention captured for hours, having a lot of fun.
