According to information from the Chinese App Store, the game, titled Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World, is scheduled to be released on August 29, 2025. Although this date may be a placeholder, its specificity suggests that the release is near.

Developed by LightSpeed Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent, in partnership with Square Enix, the game is under the direct supervision of Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of the original title. The proposal is to offer an experience that faithfully recreates the engaging narrative and dynamic combat mechanics of the original, adapted for mobile devices.

Among the confirmed features are:

Nine playable classes at launch, with the ability to switch between them through the Armoury system.
Five available races: Hyur, Elezen, Lalafell, Miqo'te, and Roegadyn.
Non-combat activities such as crafting, fishing, mining, and alchemy, maintaining gameplay diversity.
