Game will only come to the next generation and PC

Electronic Arts announced this Wednesday (03) that EA SPORTS F1 23, official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship, will be released on June 16 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, via EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam.

The game marks the return of the Brake Point story mode and also features the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.

"The return of Braking Point allows players to immerse themselves in a racing story that offers a unique take on F1 alongside the authentic racing features our players know and love," said Lee Mather, Creative Director Senior at Codemasters.

“Our close relationship with the teams has allowed us to refine our handling model, adding greater realism to pad-play and implementing a new color-coding system used in film and TV, creating a more realistic experience.”

Breakpoint will introduce a new chapter following the careers of young rookie Aiden Jackson and protagonist Devon Butler, now teammates, the Konnersport Racing Team.

F1 23 received changes in handling compared to last season, making behavior more predictable, in addition, the new physics of the cars improves traction when braking, accelerating and cornering. Real feedback from the F1 team gives a better balance between aerodynamics and tire grip, giving a more real feel.

More authentic throttle control is now possible with improvements to engine torque and inertia. Precision Drive controller technology will give pad players better control and confidence.

The game also gets the 35% sprint distance, giving it the sweet spot between the previous short and long sprint options. As for the red flags, they add a new strategic element to F1 23.

In addition to the full 2023 season schedule, which expands to include Las Vegas and Lusail, the game also features three classic circuits confirmed for release: Paul Ricard (France), Shanghai (China) and Portimão (Portugal).

The arrival of the F1 World hub introduces a new experience with content inspired by the real world calendar, allowing players to understand more of the complex world of Formula 1, F1 World brings together game modes such as Time Trial and Grand Prix.

Players will also be able to level up by completing challenges with the new progression system, allowing you to unlock upgrades to cars, liveries, race suits and helmets.

A new safety rating system links online and offline play, encouraging drivers to adopt a fair play stance. Additionally, this system assists in creating more balanced teams with like-minded players to enhance online racing.

The F1 23 Champions Edition (digital only) includes limited Las Vegas content, a Max Verstappen racing outfit pack, 2 Brake Spot Icons and a Cosmetic Item Pack, plus four new Icons for My Team mode, an XP Boost, F1 World Impact Pack, 18,000 PitCoin and three-day early access starting June 13th.

F1 23 arrives June 16, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
