Yolo Group obtains UAE license; Focus on GCC and MiCA Crypto markets
The Yolo Group has made a significant strategic breakthrough by securing gambling supplier licenses in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), issued by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). The UAE is the first regulated jurisdiction in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, positioning Yolo for significant expansion in a crucial market for its future strategy.
The major highlight of the announcement is Yolo's regulatory innovation capability. The subsidiary Live Online Gaming Services LLC (Live88.io and Onetouch.io), through Live88, will be the first Online Live Casino Studio to be licensed in the UAE. This milestone aligns with Yolo Group's strategic focus on operating exclusively in licensed and regulated environments, prioritizing transparency and trust.
The Founder of Yolo Group, Tim Heath, highlighted the value of information:
“Obtaining these licenses in the UAE is more than a regulatory achievement, it is a statement of intent. Yolo Group is committed to building the future of games with trust, transparency, and world-class innovation. The UAE is setting the stage for what modern and regulated games should be, and we are proud to be part of this journey.”
Another positive piece of information is Yolo's technological development. The company is developing a seamless one-wallet experience across all its platforms (online and land-based), and has already introduced the first MiCA-compatible cryptographic payments in its land-based casino, Bombay Club, in Tallinn, Estonia.
Despite the strategic success in the UAE, the critical aspect of the announcement lies in the dependency on Estonia for production. Product development and testing will continue to be concentrated in Estonia before the Group scales up to GCC countries. This centralization of development may pose logistical challenges and delays in expanding to the GCC region, where Yolo has now secured a strong position and seeks a sustained and long-term presence.
The subsidiaries Hub88 Holdings Ltd (hub88.io) and Live Online Gaming Services LLC (Live88.io and Onetouch.io) have received supplier licenses from GCGRA. Yolo Group can now provide iGaming content business to business to the regulated market in the United Arab Emirates and continues to seek expansion opportunities in other regulated markets globally.
Yolo Group has secured supplier licenses in the United Arab Emirates via GCGRA, allowing Live88 to become the first Online Live Casino Studio licensed in the UAE. Founder Tim Heath states that Yolo aims to build the future of games with innovation, while product development remains in Estonia before expanding to the GCC region.
