X4: Foundations launches the free Diplomacy Update and the Envoy DLC Package with dubbing in.

After seven years of continuous support, Egosoft reinforces its commitment with a free update that expands diplomacy and the arrival of a new DLC full of espionage and stealth.

Originally released in 2018, X4: Foundations has become one of the most complex and respected space simulators in its genre. For seven years, Egosoft has maintained an impressive pace of free updates, complemented by paid DLCs that have expanded the universe and gameplay. Now, in September 2025, the German studio presents another milestone: the Diplomacy Update (v8.00) and the new DLC Envoy Pack.

The Diplomacy Update arrives for free for all players and brings tools that deepen the political interaction experience in the game universe. These mechanics allow players to explore new ways to negotiate, influence, and manage factions, creating additional layers of complexity for those who already master the sandbox fundamentals.

For Brazilian fans, the main novelty is the complete dubbing in Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR). For the first time, all X4 dialogues have been fully localized, allowing a wider audience to immerse themselves in the narrative and management without language barriers. This initiative reflects both the growth of the Brazilian player base and Egosoft's recognition of the importance of this market.

Along with the free update, the studio is releasing the Envoy Pack, a paid DLC that adds new content focused on espionage and stealth. Among the novelties are:

• The Envoy frigate, equipped with visual camouflage resources and fully explorable 3D interiors, offering new gameplay possibilities;
• The Cypher, a fast pirate variant, specialized in disguises and infiltrations;
• A series of new missions that connect to the new diplomacy system, adding narrative and challenge;
• The introduction of a mysterious sector to explore and an atmospheric soundtrack that intensifies immersion.
   

The release demonstrates, once again, Egosoft's commitment to keeping X4 alive and relevant, in contrast to many games that lose support a few years after their release. The title's extended lifecycle has become a differentiator, showing how consistent updates can keep communities engaged and create new revenue opportunities for latecomers.

Although the company has not yet revealed plans for future expansions, the Diplomacy Update and the Envoy Pack make it clear that X4: Foundations continues to be a benchmark in space sandboxes.
