Will Final Fantasy VII part 3 arrive for PlayStation 6?

Something that has been talked about in recent days is the possibility of Sony bringing a new console in the coming years, or at least by 2027. Of course, we have already had some projects talking about the PlayStation 6, like the one from Kojima himself, which is still something very secretive and enigmatic.

In theory, we have another game confirmed for the next generation, not only for the next one, of course, but for the generation we are in.

The confirmed game in this case is the third part of the remake of Final Fantasy VII, which caused some headaches for Square Enix, which even though it was a great success with Rebirth (part 2 of the remake), still did not reach the necessary sales and would definitely have done so if it had been released on more platforms besides the PlayStation 5.

In a recent interview with the Japanese publication 4Gamer, producer Yoshinori Kitase suggested that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will not be exclusive to the next generation — a mistake that its predecessor FFVII Rebirth made, which ended up hurting its sales.

The Square received a lot of criticism when it announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth would only be for PlayStation 5, it was heavily criticized, even though there were problems in the development of a possible version for PlayStation 4.

When 4Gamer asked if Part 3 would be exclusive to the next generation, Kitase laughed and said: "No, you can rest assured about the next one." Director Naoki Hamaguchi agreed, reiterating Square Enix's position on multi-platform releases in the future.

“As I said before, we will release future titles on a wide range of platforms so that more people can play them,” said Hamaguchi. “I can't promise anything at this moment, but we want many people to play the games we create, so we will do our best.”
