Warhammer: Henry Cavill is set as executive producer!
If you enjoyed Space Marine 2, and are eager to see the participation of Warhammer characters in the new series by Amazon Secret Level, I bring you more news that will make you even more eager.
The Warhammer series is indeed taking its first steps being developed by Amazon as well. Luckily, we will have a fan as an executive producer, so let's hope Henry Cavill brings a wonderful project.
The official Warhammer Community website shared an update today that the two companies have "finalized their agreement." Answering their own question about what this means, the post explains: “Well, it means we now have synopses and requests for the stories we are going to tell... yes, we said stories!”
"It may have taken a year, but it was a well-spent year! And what fun - sifting through the enormity of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, debating characters, story arcs, and the thematic courage that underpins everything." In terms of when the first project will arrive, the post notes that it will take "a few years. Project One is about to enter actual development. So, next come the script(s) that will form the basis of everything else to come. Of course, as with all carefully crafted things, all of this takes time... and believe us when we say, everyone involved is focused on getting everything right."
Henry Cavill also spoke about the series on his Instagram, and celebrated the start of the series development:
My amazing team and I, along with the brilliant minds of Games Workshop, have been working in conceptual rooms, analyzing approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world. Together, we have examined the multitude of amazing characters and delved into ancient books and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by the top executives of Amazon and Games Workshop. This starting point will remain, for now, a secret. However, watch this space - more to come with time!
Henry Cavill of course, will not only be a producer, but will also bring to life one of the characters in the story, which is wonderful to imagine, as I was particularly excited to see the actor in a new fantasy production, since he no longer plays the role in The Witcher by Netflix, or as Superman. Still, life takes turns and it seems to have taken good turns for Cavill.
