Videos from the set of filming of the live-action The Legend of Zelda film in New Zealand have been shared online, offering fans a first look at Link and Zelda in action. The footage, recorded in a forest clearing, shows Bo Bragason (Zelda) and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (Link).

Zelda appears dressed in blue robes, similar to those seen in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, while Link wears his classic green outfit, reminiscent of Ocarina of Time. The colors correspond to the pre-production photos released with the initial cast announcement.

The leak also revealed a third character, reportedly Impa, Zelda's loyal aide. Fans speculate that the character is being portrayed by Dichen Lachman, known for Rupture (Severance). Although Nintendo has not confirmed Lachman's casting, the physical resemblance and the fact that the actress worked with director Wes Ball in Planet of the Apes: The War reinforce the assumption.

The distance-shot scene shows the supposed Impa handing a sword to Zelda in a clearing, with both surrounded by knights and horses.

The live-action project, officially announced in November 2023, is being produced by Nintendo's creative head, Shigeru Miyamoto, alongside Avi Arad, former CEO of Marvel Studios. The script was written by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World).

The plot details remain secret, except for a basic summary describing the film as the journey of Link, a young warrior who must protect Hyrule from Ganon, a warlord seeking the Triforce. To stop him, Link must embark on a dangerous journey, battling monstrous creatures, exploring treacherous dungeons, and solving complex puzzles.

The The Legend of Zelda film is scheduled for release on May 7, 2027. The date was revealed alongside Nintendo's plans for a "consistent pace of releases" of game-based films in the coming years, following the success of Super Mario.

Leaked videos from the filming of The Legend of Zelda in New Zealand showed Bo Bragason (Zelda) and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (Link) in classic costumes. The leak suggests that Dichen Lachman (Rupture) is in the cast as Impa, Zelda's guardian. The film is set to be released on May 7, 2027, with production by Shigeru Miyamoto and direction by Wes Ball.
