Update 1.25 of DayZ: patch details and news

Finally, Bohemia Interactive has released the long-awaited 1.25 update for DayZ on experimental servers. Now, the studio is preparing to officially launch the update on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Highlights of Update 1.25

The highlight of update 1.25 is the introduction of ambient music, a long-requested addition by the community. Developed in collaboration with Czech composer Filip Míšek, the new soundtrack adds around 100 minutes of music to the game. Additionally, the team overhauled the gun sounds for all shotguns, as well as the sounds for the grenade launcher and crossbow.

Patch Notes (Experimental)

While the official patch notes have not been released yet, the experimental patch notes for PC and consoles include the following changes and additions:

PC

Additions:

• VS-89 Rifle and Magazine
• Support for game crash reporter
   

Fixes:

• Aiming with a weapon with the gesture wheel open.
• Issues with repairing sea chests and wooden boxes with "disableContainerDamage" setting.
• Traps behaviors not working correctly.
• Impact of poor connectivity on weapon lift check.
• Various exploits for looking through walls.
• Issues with server time translation in the browser.
   

Changes:

• Items in nested containers are no longer accessible via quickbar or reload key.
• Overhaul of sound sets for shotgun shots, crossbow, and M79 grenade launcher.
• Adjustment of character action sounds attenuation.
• Reworked client-server character reconciliation.
• Game credits update.
• Reduced weapon pickup trigger width for more natural behavior.
• Removal of promotional highlight for Livonia DLC.

Consoles

Additions and Fixes:

• Similar to PC changes, including VS-89 rifle and support for game crash reporter, in addition to the mentioned fixes.

Changes:

• Overhaul of sound sets for all shotguns, crossbows, and M79 grenade launchers.
• Adjustment of character action sounds and other technical details.
   

Update 1.25 promises to significantly enhance the DayZ experience with new music, weapon sound improvements, as well as various bug fixes and technical adjustments. This is an important step for the game, bringing a deeper level of immersion for players.
