Unity 6 reaches 9.4 million downloads; revenue grows 5% in Q3
The Unity has released its financial results for the third quarter of its fiscal year, reporting modest gains, but above expectations in most segments. Total revenue grew 5% year over year, reaching $471 million.
The company highlighted that the results "once again significantly exceeded expectations in both revenue and Adjusted EBITDA, driven by Unity Vector AI, as well as by the continued strength in Create".
The Q3 2025 numbers were:
Revenue: $471 million (5% year over year increase)
Create Solutions Revenue: $152 million (3% year over year increase)
Grow Solutions Revenue: $318 million (6% year over year increase)
Net Loss: $127 million (with a 27% margin)
The 3% increase in Create Solutions revenue was attributed to strong growth in subscription revenue, although it was "offset by declines in consumer services revenue, driven by [its] redefined portfolio". Unity's CEO, President, and Director, Matthew Bromberg, emphasized: "excluding the impact of non-strategic revenue, Unity's Create subscription software business increased 13% year over year, reflecting the fundamental improvements [they] made in both the quality of [their] product and the connection [they] have with [their] customers."
Grow Solutions revenue rose 6%, driven by the strong performance of Unity Ad Network, although it was "slightly offset" by year-over-year declines in "other Grow businesses".
In terms of adoption, CEO Matthew Bromberg confirmed that Unity 6 already has over 9.4 million registered downloads, a 42% increase from the previous quarter. Customer-reported issues have decreased by 22% since the launch, indicating "significant ongoing momentum and adoption".
Looking to the future, Unity expects revenue between $480 and $490 million in the next reporting period, with mid-single-digit sequential revenue growth for Grow, and high-single-digit annual growth for Create. Bromberg also signaled that Unity will "fully support" extended and augmented reality, ensuring "that Unity has the necessary resources to support the robust growth of the industry", as AR and VR headset shipments are expected to grow by 38% in 2025 (Seeking Alpha).
Bromberg reinforced the company's mission: "Unity has always been committed to democratizing access to technology. Our goal is to give every software developer the tools and platform to become a game developer. This is in our DNA. Advances in artificial intelligence will allow us to enhance and extend this mission."
Unity reported $471 million in revenue (5% increase) in Q3 2025, surpassing expectations with profits driven by Unity Vector AI and Create Solutions ($152 million, 3% increase). Unity 6 already has 9.4 million downloads. CEO Matthew Bromberg projects revenue between $480-$490 million in the next period and focus on extended reality and artificial intelligence.
