The Transformers game was canceled by Splash Damage

Focused on online cooperative action, the game Transformers: Reactivate was canceled by Splash Damage, which is now looking to focus on other projects, while also reducing the company's team.

The studio will scale down and redirect its efforts to other projects, and various roles within the studio are at potential risk of redundancy.

"Although not being able to see the game until launch is painful, having to say goodbye to friends and colleagues hurts even more," Splash Damage said in a message. "We are now focused on doing everything we can to support them during this difficult period, as well as being committed to taking care of those who will stay with us as we build a stronger Splash Damage for the future."

The game was designed for 4 players, and was certainly another live-service game that unfortunately could not receive the necessary support for launch. As a result, part of the team bids farewell to the company and the project.

The company also took the opportunity in the statement to thank the cooperation with Hasbro, who allowed their brand to be used for the game. The studio lamented not being able to release the game and hopes to do more in the future alongside the brand!

The Transformers franchise has not been doing so well since its last movie, and it was even a surprise to me to know that a game was in development. Anyway, it's a shame, since we currently don't have any Transformers games that truly showcase how rich and action-packed the characters' universe is!
