The American premiere of the film Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie has been confirmed for July 16, 2025, with showings in original audio (Japanese) and English dubbing. In Japan, the release will happen earlier, on May 30, 2025, with a special presentation with the main cast, which will be broadcast live in cinemas throughout the country.

The film is a cinematic compilation of the first five episodes of the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc, which opened the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen and focuses on the formative years of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. The episodes revolve around the mission to escort the young Riko Amanai, who must be taken to Master Tengen. However, the task turns into tragedy when a non-curse user tries to assassinate her, creating the embryo of the conflict between the two central characters.

For this cinema version, the content has been remastered with a remixed surround sound 5.1 soundtrack, with selected tracks exclusively rearranged for screening in theaters — an attempt to provide a more immersive experience even for those who have already watched the original series on streaming platforms.

In addition to the compilation, the film will feature a brand-new mini-anime in the Juju Stroll format, starring the characters Gojo, Geto, and Shoko Ieiri, also based on the original work by Gege Akutami. According to the Anime TV website, this additional animation will adopt "a lighter and more relaxed tone compared to the main plot." The production continues under the responsibility of the MAPPA studio, which has been in charge of all anime seasons so far.

The announcement of the new content was made through the specialized profile Jujutsu Kaisen News, confirming that the mini-anime will be exclusively shown in the film sessions as complementary material to the narrative.

Jujutsu Kaisen, created by Gege Akutami, has established itself as one of the biggest recent successes in the anime industry. Seasons 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Crunchyroll, and a third season is already in development. With the arrival of the film, the franchise remains one of the most active intellectual properties in the Japanese audiovisual market.

The strategy of turning previous arcs into cinematic versions has been used by other popular series such as Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan, with mixed results. However, the inclusion of original content and technical improvements positions this release as more than just a simple re-presentation of what has already been seen.
