The Chaos of New Tokyo Arrives at the Mundo Gamer Showcase with Mexican Ninja
The Mundo Gamer Showacse confirms another explosive title in its international lineup: Mexican Ninja, developed by Mad Bricks, from Colombia, with publishing by Amber Studio. The game arrives at the event as one of the highlights of the indie action roguelike segment, bringing a completely insane, culturally hybrid, and personality-filled universe.
Scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2026, Mexican Ninja delivers a frenetic experience in a retro 2.5D arcade set in Nuevo Tokyo — a post-collision geopolitical city where Japan and Mexico form a feudal regime dominated by the alliance of the Narcos and Yakuza, now known as Narkuzas.
It is in this chaotic scenario that players take on the role of the legendary Mexican ninja, facing hordes of enemies, brutal bosses, and fast-paced challenges.
Action, Style, and Chaos in Nuevo Tokyo
Mexican Ninja features high-intensity combat, precise movement, and timed attacks, offering intuitive, rewarding, and impactful gameplay. The game invites players to explore special abilities, unlock powers inspired by nipo-Mexican spirits, and master unique jutsus within an irreverent talent tree, called Donkey Path.
In addition, the title features:
- Skill-based progression and improvements
- Customization of combat style and character appearance
- Exaggerated humor and stylized narrative
- Modern retro visuals with strong artistic identity
Carlos Rincones, the game's creator, summarizes the essence of the project:
“Mexican Ninja has always represented for me the desire to create a unique hero — someone who could unite the cultures I admire and who could carry that exaggerated, intense, and fun atmosphere. I hope players get carried away by this crazy world and find their own ‘inner donkey’. This journey is about falling, getting up, and keep fighting.”
The game features stylized violence, acid humor, and mature themes related to organized crime and degraded urban settings. It does not contain nudity, but it does contain strong language in English and Spanish.
Support and Accessibility
Mexican Ninja offers options such as difficulty adjustment, saving at any time, adjustable text size, subtitles, and refined controls, including the possibility of playing without the need for quick reflexes.
Available Languages
The game will feature interface and subtitles in 14 languages, including: Brazilian Portuguese, English (with dubbing), Spanish, European Portuguese, Chinese, among others.
