Dying Light had a new game announced amidst Gamescom 2024, with Dying Light: The Beast, and it was clearly great to see the franchise return, with that, seeing what Techland showed recently, the developer has several plans for the franchise, including board games and even Webcomics!

Dying Light 1 was released on January 26, 2015 and proved to be a huge success for Techland, selling over 20 million copies by 2022. A sequel was released in 2022, and an 18-hour standalone adventure, Dying Light: The Beast, is set to arrive this summer.

And this is far from the end of Dying Light ambitions from Techland. The studio has now revealed that they are planning "multiple unannounced projects", as they aim to position the series as the "ultimate zombie experience". According to the developer, they will "go beyond video games" and include board games, a series of webcomics, merchandise, and "more".

"Our goal is to bring the world of Dying Light to even more people," writes Techland. "From the ongoing support of our currently released games to Dying Light: The Beast and beyond, there has never been a better time to be a Dying Light fan."

In the more immediate future, Techland is releasing new updates for Dying Light 1 and 2 "very soon". The first game is set to see the return of old events along with new rewards, and will receive a series of "improvements", including enhanced visuals, a remastered soundtrack, and more. As for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, it is receiving "additional prologue changes", and its roguelite mode Tower Raid is set to become permanent.

Furthermore, for those who have not yet experienced the open-world zombie series from Techland, Dying Light 1 and 2 are currently on sale for Xbox and PC.
