Tango Gameworks back to development!
This year we had several closures, I consider it was a year full of tragedies for the world of games, however, not everything was grey and after Microsoft gave up on Tango Gameworks, luckily Krafton arrived and put a trampoline, preventing the closure of the company that develops unique games, and apparently they will continue to do their great work!
Now working under the publisher of PUBG, the leaders of the studio Tango Colin Mack, John Johannas and Kazuaki Egashira sat down with 4Gamer to discuss their next steps. "After a business succession or acquisition, you may be instructed to 'copy popular games' or 'make sequels because sequels are safe," explained the director of Hi-Fi Rush, Mack. "However, Krafton values creativity and wants us to continue doing what we did at Tango Gameworks and make games that only Tango Gameworks can make."
"Tango Gameworks has been working hard for about 14 years since its foundation in 2010, but it was decided that it would be closed when it finally became the ideal studio we imagined," Mack explained about the abrupt announcement of Tango's closure. "However, it was very sad to see the studio close. When we looked for a partner to continue Tango Gameworks in this way, we found that Krafton has a culture that values fun and creativity, which are fundamental in games."
Unfortunately, we still don't have any ideas about which projects Krafton may take forward, however, we previously had some hints about Hi-Fi Rush 2, which may be returning to development.
If you feared the closure, now you can breathe easier, as the company has been saved, and surely it should bring more and more wonderful experiences.
