T1 conquers unprecedented third consecutive championship at Worlds 2025
T1 made history at Worlds 2025 by winning the final against KT Rolster by 3–2 this Saturday (9). The victory secures T1's third consecutive title at the League of Legends (LoL) World Championship, an unprecedented achievement that solidifies the current team's dynasty as one of the most dominant in the history of the tournament.
The series between the South Korean giants was electrifying. Gumayusi, the AD carry who was voted MVP of the final with direct participation in 73% of the kills in T1's victories, expressed the feeling of acknowledgment on the world stage:
“It feels like a dream! I didn't expect this. Thank you for voting for me as MVP, this year was very difficult (for me). Every year I feel like I have to prove myself, but this year was different, because I finally felt like I have proven myself to myself, and I'm very happy that I was able to show who I am. I can confidently say that I am the best ADC in the world!”
T1's performance was marked by a crucial turnaround in the first game, led by Keria at the third dragon. In the fourth match, T1's dominance was evident, with Oner stealing two neutral objectives from Cuzz and a Quadrakill from Gumayusi against Renata Glasc. Game 5 was decided after T1 secured the Atakhan, despite the resistance from BDD and KT's carries. Top laner Doran also stood out, especially in the final game.
Individually, Doran was emotional after his debut as a world champion:
“After 6 years since my debut, I finally managed to fulfill my dream. I am very happy that I seized the opportunity that was given to me. However, I hope that this championship is not the end of my story, and that my own tale begins now. With that in mind, I hope to enjoy every moment of this victory.”
With the third consecutive title at Worlds, Gumayusi and Keria have become the most victorious players in their positions in history, surpassing Bang and Wolf. Oner has equaled Bengi among triple-champion junglers. The current core of T1 (Oner, Gumayusi, Keria) ties with the SKT era in titles, totaling six victories for the organization (three in a row).
The legendary Faker raised his personal record to a hexachampionship, with six titles in eight finals contested since 2013.
On the KT Rolster side, despite the defeat, mid laner BDD received acclaim from the Chinese community and a 9.9 rating on the Hupu platform for his solid performance. However, the player downplayed the recognition:
“This rating means nothing, since I lost the game today.”
In terms of viewership, the grand final was a public success, recording a peak of 6.7 million simultaneous viewers, according to Esports Charts, just 1.7% below the 2024 record. Korea set a regional record with over 2 million views.
Immediately after the victory, T1 began to reveal the champion choices for the Worlds 2025 skins: Doran mentioned Ambessa, Gragas, and Camille, Keria named Lulu and Neeko, and Faker is expected to leave the choice in the hands of the fans.
