Once again under the command of Geoff Keighley, the Summer Game Fest 2025 promises to be the biggest in the history of the event, with the confirmed presence of more than 60 companies from the gaming industry. The list, officially published by Keighley on his X account, includes not only the three main console manufacturers — PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox — but also publishers and studios of various sizes, from traditional giants to independent developers.

The event will take place on June 6, 2025, directly from Los Angeles, with a global live broadcast. The main presentation is scheduled for 6:00 pm (Brasília Time) and is part of the ongoing effort to establish the Summer Game Fest as the natural successor to E3, officially ended in 2023.

The participation of Nintendo, absent in the 2023 and 2024 editions, is one of the main highlights. The Japanese company had chosen to reveal its releases through Nintendo Directs on parallel dates, but now returns to the collective stage of the SGF. The presence of Sony, through PlayStation, and Microsoft, representing Xbox, reinforces the weight of the occasion.

Check out the complete list of confirmed participants:

1047 Games, 2K, 505 Games, Amazing Seasun Games, Amazon Games, Annapurna Interactive, Atari, Bandai Namco, Bellring Games, Blumhouse Games, Capcom, CD Projekt RED, Coffee Stain Studios, Day of the Devs, Devolver Digital, Digital Extremes, Dotemu, Dreamhaven, Embark Studios, Enhance, Epic Games, Focus Entertainment, Frontier Developments, Funcom, iam8bit, IO Interactive, Kakao Games, Kinetic Games, Kuro Games, Level Infinite, Magic: The Gathering, Megabit, Meta Quest, Mundfish, NCSoft, Nekki, Neowiz, Nexon, Niantic, Nintendo, Nuverse, Pearl Abyss, PlaySide Studios, Playstack, PlayStation, PM Studios, Razer, SEGA, Soft Rains, Square Enix, Steam, Supermassive Games, Techland, Xbox, Xsolla, and Yacht Club Games.

Despite the impressive number, the event has been facing criticism for the lack of impact in recent editions. In 2024, for example, the excess of trailers without clear dates or context ended up diluting interest. The bet on an extensive lineup seems to be an attempt to diversify the announcements and regain some of the community's trust.

However, there is still no information about the games that will be presented. The event's tradition suggests that Keighley will start revealing the highlights in the weeks leading up to the broadcast. Expectations revolve around game updates like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, projects from CD Projekt RED, and new platform announcements from Epic Games Store and Steam.

The industry hopes that the 2025 edition will finally be able to balance the number of participants with the quality and relevance of the announcements. Until then, the SGF remains the main showcase of the sector in the first half of the year.
