The developer Striking Distance Studios has revealed their newest project, a new spin-off set in the same dark universe as their 2022 survival horror game, The Callisto Protocol. Tentatively titled 'Project Birdseye', this action roguelike game is being developed by a small team, alongside the company's next big project.

The studio shared the news in a promotional video, explaining that 'Project Birdseye' is a fast-paced action roguelike experience set in Iron Black Prison. Although not 'The Callisto Protocol 2', this spin-off allows the team to explore new ideas without compromising the development of the next AAA game.

According to Striking Distance, the concept of 'Project Birdseye' was born from the team's passion for roguelike games and the desire to expand The Callisto Protocol universe. The company is committed to engaging the community from the early stages of development, ensuring that the new project resonates with both fans and developers.

The reveal of 'Project Birdseye' comes at a time of renewal for Striking Distance Studios, which is working on a new game using Unreal Engine 5, announced last year.

After layoffs and the CEO's departure in 2023, the studio is determined to regain its position in the gaming industry, offering players engaging and innovative experiences in 'The Callisto Protocol' universe.
