Prepare your lightsabers and think twice before advancing without cover: the universe of Star Wars is about to receive a new turn-based tactical game — and now it has an official name. Electronic Arts has finally revealed that its new single-player project set in a galaxy far, far away will be called Star Wars Zero Company, and the first conceptual art is already among us.

The official revelation was accompanied by an important announcement: the game will have its first full presentation on April 19, during the highly anticipated Star Wars Celebration Japan. The panel will feature representatives from the developer Bit Reactor, as well as names from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, who will share the first gameplay details and show exclusive snippets of the title.

The project had already been confirmed previously by EA, but without a name, images, or concrete information. Now, with the name and conceptual art in hand, we know that Star Wars Zero Company will be a turn-based tactical game, aimed at single-player, and with strong influences from classics like XCOM — which is not surprising, since the responsible studio, Bit Reactor, is formed by veterans of Firaxis, precisely the creators of XCOM and XCOM 2.

According to rumors and previous statements, the proposal is to put players in command of a tactical team composed of characters from the Star Wars universe, including different races, factions, and specializations, all in iconic scenarios of the saga. The expectation is for strategic battles where every decision counts — and where every move can define the success of the mission or the end of your company.

So far, no release date has been confirmed, not even the platforms on which the game will be released, but it is expected that Star Wars Zero Company will arrive for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, following the pattern of recent productions from EA and Respawn, like the successful Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

The revealed art shows a squad of soldiers lined up under a heavy sky, with ships in the background and an atmosphere that blends war, strategy, and drama — exactly the kind of tone that fans of tactical combat love. It is a clear indication that narrative will also play an important role in the experience.

Bit Reactor, since its foundation, has been clear about its focus on elevating the strategy genre, promising not only deep combat, but also high production value and immersive storytelling. This will be the studio's first major undertaking, and expectations are high, especially because it is a collaboration with heavyweights like Star Wars, EA, Lucasfilm, and Respawn Entertainment.

If you are a fan of turn-based strategy and love the Star Wars universe, it is worth paying attention to the panel on April 19, where the curtain will be officially lifted. Do we have a new XCOM with lightsabers coming? The Force seems promising this time.
