Square Enix must release Octopath Traveler on PlayStation 4 and 5
The Square Enix seems to finally be ready to release Octopath Traveler on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Although the official announcement has not yet occurred, the game was listed on the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee website, responsible for age ratings in the country.
Originally released for the Switch in 2018, Octopath Traveler later arrived on PC, Xbox One, and the now-defunct Stadia. With a striking visual style that established the HD-2D subgenre, the RPG from Square Enix was a critical and commercial success, selling over three million copies.
The PlayStation versions of Octopath Traveler were rated in Taiwan on the same day that Octopath Traveler 2 received age rating on Xbox Series X|S. This suggests that Square Enix is preparing a joint announcement soon, possibly during the Summer Game Fest on Friday, June 7, or at the Xbox Showcase on Sunday.
The release of "Octopath Traveler 2" on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC was promised by Square Enix during the Tokyo Game Show last September, with an expected arrival in early 2024. Expectations are high for both announcements, which are expected to attract even more fans to the acclaimed RPG series.
