The speedrunner BlueSR has already set two records for the Hollow Knight Silksong demo, demonstrating the community's skill even before the official release of the game. The player had access to the 15-minute demo available at Gamescom in Germany, and achieved remarkable times.

The 100% race, which shows a complete exploration of the demo, was completed in 10 minutes and 36 seconds. The record for the any% category, which focuses on reaching the end of the demo as quickly as possible, was only 2 minutes and 26 seconds. The videos of BlueSR's races, recorded with a cell phone camera, show the fluidity of Hornet's gameplay.

The races reveal the sophistication of the protagonist's new abilities, such as the Silk Spear and the diagonal dives. BlueSR's ability to navigate the environment and defeat enemies suggests that the game will have a higher level of difficulty than its predecessor, with enhanced movesets for Pharloom enemies.

The playable Silksong demo confirmed that the game "doesn't seem like a massive departure from the original," but that it "refreshes the formula," which is a good sign for franchise fans. The game does not yet have an official category on Speedrun.com, making BlueSR's records the world's first.

The speedrunning community's quick engagement with the Hollow Knight Silksong demo is a sign of the game's strong potential. Do you believe that Team Cherry will be able to deliver a title that lives up to the expectations set by Hollow Knight?
