Test games, PS5 features, and PlayStation App news on a single platform

The Sony has just announced a great news for PlayStation players: a Unified Beta Program, which will bring together all game tests, PS5 console updates, PlayStation App features, and PlayStation.com experiences in one place.

From now on, players will be able to register with a single account to express interest in participating in PS5 and PC game betas, tests of new console features, experimentation with app functions, and even changes to the web interface of the platform.

What changes with this new format?

Prior to this change, Sony beta tests were conducted separately, with specific registrations for PS5 firmware, closed game betas, and other functionalities. Now, with this Unified Beta Program, access to news will be centralized, making it easier for players to follow tests and increase their chances of being selected.

It is worth noting that, even after registration, participation is not guaranteed in all tests, but registered players will have priority for future selections.

How to sign up for the PlayStation Beta Program?

To participate, you must meet some basic criteria:

  • Have an active PlayStation Network (PSN) account in good standing;
  •  Reside in a region where the Beta Program is available;
  •  Meet the minimum legal age required in your region.

Registration is free and now available globally, but there is still no confirmation about availability in Brazil. Interested parties can register directly on the official Sony website and await future calls.

What tests will be available in the future?

Although Sony has not yet revealed the first tests that will be part of the new program, it is expected to include:

  • Closed betas of new games for PS5 and PC;
  • Early tests of PS5 system updates;
  • Experimentation with new PlayStation App features;
  • Changes to the interface of PlayStation.com.

Will you sign up?

With this innovation, Sony takes another step to strengthen the PlayStation community, allowing players to have early access to news and contribute to the development and improvement of platform services.

And you, do you intend to sign up to test the news before everyone else?
