Shareholder of Ubisoft speaks about dissatisfaction with the company's results!

It's not just now that Ubisoft has been stumbling on its own feet. The company has been doing this for years and delivering more and more similar games, with the same mechanics and proposals. Now, perhaps this is becoming risky and the company is being held accountable for it.

In a public letter, the investment fund: AJ Investments, based in Slovakia, expressed in the letter its “deep dissatisfaction” with the results Ubisoft has had with its market strategies, also mentioning some delays in important franchise games such as Rainbow Six Siege and The Division, showing that the company is really affecting others.

One of the most unusual things in the letter is that AJ Investments asks for Ubisoft to go private, in other words, sold to a strategic buyer.

Ubisoft's shares have been falling for a good while now, but in this last quarter of 2024 the drop was worse, mainly due to Star Wars: Outlaws, which didn't even come close to what was expected.

Another factor that caused the shares to drop was the decline in numbers for XDefiant, which entered the market to compete with Call Of Duty and so far remains the same, being a raw game that didn't introduce special events for its players, or quality Skins and camouflages that could be bought by players. (Of course, not to mention the forgotten franchise game “Avatar”, which almost went unnoticed when released.)

Adding these 2 factors, we see that Ubisoft has not been creative in its games and obviously the public is losing confidence, as they know they will have the same experience every time they buy a game from Ubisoft.

It may seem like the safest way to invest your money is always to bet on the winning horse, but companies like Ubisoft think the horse will never age and that this formula will always be enough.

Even though the AJ Investments doesn't have much stake in the company, it's still interesting to see that even their shareholders are realizing that Ubisoft's horse is getting old and this formula needs more creativity to keep making money!

So, what do you think about this? Let's talk in the comments, I want to hear your opinion!
