Rumor points to a remake of Dino Crisis in production at Capcom
A survey conducted by Capcom itself revealed a strong public desire for the revival of the title, along with the fact that the company recently renewed the commercial trademark in Japan. The dinosaur-themed survival horror franchise has been stuck in an uncomfortable hiatus with no new releases for more than twenty years, making the delay in addressing these requests a true oversight of the brand's own history. Investing in this project makes perfect sense within the Japanese company's business plan, which has been accumulating successes by reviving Resident Evil classics and bringing back brands that seemed forgotten, like Onimusha and Okami.
Without a clear position from the Japanese executives, any speculation about digital dinosaurs should be met with maximum skepticism.
The information gained traction online after a post by the account Team Biohazard, a profile known for predicting internal movements of the Asian publisher with relative accuracy. The claims stated that the Dino Crisis revamp project has been advancing behind the scenes at the studio since 2022. However, the complete absence of screenshots, video clips, debut windows, or confirmed platforms leaves everything in the realm of speculation. Taking on a prominent franchise demands transparency with the community, and raising expectations without showing concrete material is very frustrating for veteran fans.
The likelihood of facing yet another false alarm is considerable as long as Capcom does not officially announce the development in a public presentation. Bringing the survival horror adventure to modern graphic engines would be a brilliant move to diversify the studio's action portfolio, but until gameplay trailers make an appearance, the existence of this project remains just a wish fueled by internet rumors.
