Rumor about banning foreign PSN accounts is debunked

A recent rumor about possible suspensions of PSN accounts created outside the users' region of origin was debunked by community sources and lacks any official confirmation from Sony.

The information emerged in an obscure channel on Telegram, which claimed that players from Russia were having their accounts banned for using alternative regions to bypass local restrictions. The allegation quickly spread on forums like Reddit and ResetEra, generating concern especially among players from countries where PSN does not have official support.

However, several Russian players debunked the situation, pointing out that the reported cases were associated with violation of terms of service, such as buying and selling accounts, and not the creation of foreign accounts per se.

So far, Sony has not issued any official statement, but there are no signs of widespread blocks or changes in policy for users who have created foreign accounts legitimately, such as in cases of changing countries.
