Jinx enters the arena and Fuses system receives major changes

The Riot Games is preparing the second major test of its promising fighting game, 2XKO, and revealed a series of gameplay changes for the Alpha Lab 2, which takes place between April 18 and 20. Among the news, the highlight is the addition of the iconic Jinx, who will finally be playable alongside Braum, Ekko, Yasuo, Darius, Ahri, and Illaoi.

The announcement was made through a video on YouTube, in which the developer explained the main changes since the Alpha Lab 1, held last year.

New Fuses system and enhanced modes

The Riot Games revamped the Fuses mechanic, bringing two new options that significantly alter gameplay:

Sidekick Fuse: offers a bonus of life and defense to the active champion, but prevents the assistant from swapping places.

Juggernaut Fuse: removes the assistant champion, transferring their bonuses and buffs to the main character.

In addition, the Pulse Fuse was removed and replaced by Pulse Combo Setting, promising more balance and variety of strategies. During the event, the developer will also reveal new skins and a Battle Pass system, increasing customization possibilities within the game.

Ranked Lobbies and ranking system

The Alpha Lab 2 will also take a big step towards competitive play, implementing Ranked Lobbies for those who want to climb the leagues, as in other Riot titles, such as League of Legends and Valorant.

The ranking system will follow the order below:

  • Aspirant
  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Emerald
  • Diamond
  • Master
  • Grandmaster
  • Challenger

With this structure, Riot Games reinforces its commitment to turn 2XKO into a true competitive fighting game.

How to participate in Alpha Lab 2?

If you want to test 2XKO before the official release, Riot Games allows registration on the official website to compete for an invite. It is worth mentioning that all participants of Alpha Lab 1 will be automatically enrolled in Alpha Lab 2.

The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but access to Alpha Lab 2 will be limited to players from the United States, Canada, and Brazil.

There is still no official release date for 2XKO, but Riot has already announced that a larger test will be conducted in the future, further expanding players' access to the game. Does 2XKO have what it takes to compete in the fighting games scene? In April, we will have a taste of what's to come!
