REPO: Developers Clarify Cosmetics and Future Updates

The REPO development team, the multiplayer horror game, semiwork, released an update video to clarify the confusion generated by a cosmetics teaser. The company apologized for showcasing a robot with glasses, beard, and beanie in a previous post, which raised expectations about customization options beyond the base color of playable robots. semiwork stated that, although skin options are on the way, the hipster mountaineer outfit is not an example of what will be released.

Pontus Sundström, the video presenter and member of the marketing team at semiwork, stated: "While we have cosmetics and other customizations added to the game, we want to clearly state that this Semibot does not represent these cosmetics. This was simply us having fun, and I'm sorry if this confused some of you. We like to have fun, and things like this you will continue to see." This statement highlights semiwork's use of teasers and playful elements in their communications, even if it occasionally leads to misunderstandings.

New Locations and Quality of Life Improvements in REPO

The next REPO update is progressing and will include the Museum of Human Art, a new area that will bring decorations and minor details, contributing to deepening the narrative and lore of the supernatural universe of REPO.

In addition to new locations, semiwork plans to revitalize existing maps. Sundström mentioned the goal of "updating Switchbroom Academy, McJannek Station, and Headman Manor with new and lore-rich things in the environment." However, a warning on the video screen indicates that these additions will arrive "later," suggesting that players will not see them anytime soon.

Another mentioned future functionality is the moon phases, although Sundström indicated that they are not yet ready for immediate public consumption. An option in the menu will allow players to see in which moon phase the game is. Overall, semiwork promises several novelties for REPO, excluding accessories like beanies for now.

semiwork seems to be focused on expanding the REPO universe with more lore elements, while enhancing the visual experience and consistency of existing environments. The studio's approach to teasers may continue to be a point of attention for the community, which seeks clarity about future content. The promise of more customization options and new maps suggests a commitment to keeping the game relevant and interesting for its player base.

For the REPO community, the future updates promise not only new locations to explore and lore elements to uncover, but also enhancements to the already known maps, which can revitalize the gaming experience. However, expectations should be moderated regarding the release time of these improvements to existing maps.
