Remedy Advances in the Production of Control 2 and Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake
Remedy Entertainment, a renowned studio for games like Alan Wake and Control, is moving at a fast pace with its upcoming projects. In its latest financial report, the company confirmed that Control 2 has entered the "pre-production" phase, a crucial milestone in the game's development. This means that the game has surpassed the concept testing stage and is about to enter full production.
Although specific dates have not been disclosed, there is a basis for speculation. Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, which reached the same "pre-production" phase ten months ago, is now in full production. If Control 2 follows a similar schedule, it is likely that the game will enter full production around June 2025.
Speaking of Max Payne, the Remedy team is fully immersed in the development of the remake of the iconic action games from 2001 and 2003. Although there is no defined release window yet, the remake promises to revitalize the classic experience in a double package.
In addition, the game Condor, a multiplayer spin-off of Control, has also made significant progress. This is the only multiplayer game currently in development at Remedy, following the cancellation of the mysterious project codenamed Kestrel in May 2024. The team has been working on multiple maps and different types of missions, and has already organized several internal and external testing sessions for functionality validation and feedback collection.
With these three projects at different stages of development, it is important to remember that we are still a few years away from seeing these titles on the market. However, the cancellation of Kestrel could accelerate the schedule, as Remedy announced that it would redistribute its developers to the other three ongoing games.
With Control 2, Max Payne Remakes, and Condor on the way, Remedy Entertainment continues to consolidate its position as one of the most innovative studios in the gaming industry.
