Remake of Zelda Ocarina of Time gets release date and voice acting
Bringing one of the most influential classics in video game history completely rebuilt for current hardware with full Brazilian Portuguese localization is a remarkable achievement by Nintendo, ensuring a fitting tribute to the franchise's 40 years to touch fans of all generations. During a special broadcast to celebrate the anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, the company unveiled the first trailer featuring extended gameplay footage and confirmed that the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.
The presentation led by producer Eiji Aonuma showcased a complete graphical reconstruction of the Nintendo 64 title, featuring a reimagined Hyrule with free camera, manual jump for the protagonist Link, and the "threads of time" mechanic for mission tracking.
The gameplay will include new interactive elements in using the musical instrument:
The player will be able to hum the classic themes directly into the console controller's microphone to perform spells in the campaign.
Nintendo Brasil confirmed via social media that the game will feature full voice acting and subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese.
To accompany the launch, the manufacturer announced accessories and a special edition of the console decorated with Triforce symbols:
Replica of the controller in ocarina shape with dedicated buttons and audio compatibility.
Integration with the official Nintendo mobile app for consulting maps, journals, and behind-the-scenes content.
The 40th-anniversary-themed model of the Nintendo Switch 2 accompanied by an exclusive Pro Controller.
The commemorative version of the console and its traditional controller will hit the international market on October 29.
However, the sale of this limited physical edition will initially be restricted to the brand's official stores located in New York and San Francisco.
Investing in voice acting in our language and modern gameplay improvements without losing the essence of the original work is a spectacular demonstration of respect by Nintendo towards the community. On the other hand, restricting the sale of the 40th-anniversary themed Nintendo Switch 2 exclusively to two physical stores in the United States exposes the company's elitist and outdated stance on global distribution, leaving Brazilian and other international fans completely at the mercy of scalpers and the gray market to acquire a commemorative edition.
