As one of the most striking games during the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 generation, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion may be receiving a remake for Playstation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC, according to the famous leaker, NateTheHate.

According to NateTheHate, the game was scheduled for June 2025, but Bethesda Softworks may anticipate this release, causing the official reveal of the new version to occur as early as March.

It appears that the remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is being developed by the studio Virtuos, which is also working on the new version of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, set to arrive on August 28. Not only that, but a major overhaul in combat and stealth is speculated, thanks to the use of Unreal Engine 5.

In the game's story, after the mysterious assassination of the Emperor, Uriel Septim VII, the throne of Tamriel remains empty. With the Empire on the brink of collapse, the gates of Oblivion are opened and the Daedra march on Tamriel, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. To fight against this evil, the player must find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister conspiracy that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel and thus, end the Oblivion Crisis.
