Remake of Sands of Time is expected to arrive by March 2026

After years of delays and restarts, the problematic The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake finally received a more concrete release forecast. According to the latest Ubisoft financial report , published this month of May 2025 , the title is officially listed as part of the company's portfolio for the current fiscal year , which runs from April 2025 to March 2026 .

Although there is still no specific date, this indicates that the game should be released by, at most, March 31, 2026 . Considering the history of delays, it is the most solid indication so far that the project is indeed moving towards completion.

The remake has been in development since 2018 , and its first revelation occurred in September 2020 , with the initial release scheduled for January 2021 . Since then, production has gone through various setbacks, including negative reviews of its visual quality , studio changes - moving from the hands of Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai to be reassumed by Ubisoft Montreal - and a series of project scope revisions. In June 2023 , Ubisoft itself confirmed that the game had returned to the pre-production phase, generating new uncertainties.

During the summer of 2024 , it was announced that the remake would not arrive before 2026 , which, at the time, sounded like another sign of instability.
