Pokémon Masters EX, a mobile title released in August 2019 through a partnership between DeNA and The Pokémon Company, has surpassed 60 million downloads worldwide. The game, available for free on iOS and Android, continues to keep its player base active with regular events and new content since its launch.

Focused on trio battles, the game features a gacha system where players recruit pairs of trainers and Pokémon — such as Red and Charizard, Cynthia and Garchomp, among others — to face challenges in various modes, including story campaign, cooperative battles, and temporary events. The mechanics combine real-time strategy with team management, as well as feature full voice acting and anime-style animations.

To celebrate the milestone of 60 million downloads, a promotional campaign was announced on X (Twitter), offering the chance to win an official poster featuring artwork by Kamijima Iku, an artist who has collaborated with the franchise in the past. Participation is open until May 5, with the draw limited to certain countries, according to the event guidelines.

“Pokémon Masters EX continues to grow with the incredible support of the global community. We are honored to celebrate this achievement with our fans around the world.”

Since 2019, the game has undergone several significant updates, including its rebranding with the subtitle “EX” in 2020, which expanded progression systems and introduced pairs of iconic champions and villains. The success of the title reinforces DeNA as one of the main responsible for mobile initiatives of The Pokémon Company, alongside titles like Pokémon Café ReMix and Pokémon Unite.
