Playstation is internally testing characters with AI

After Microsoft officially announced its generative AI model, Sony wasted no time and also started some internal tests, not yet officially confirmed by the company. However, an anonymously shared video with The Verge website reveals Aloy, protagonist of the Horizon franchise, answering questions with her voice and even making facial expressions according to what she was supposed to respond.

Narrated by Sharwin Raghoebardajal, software engineering director at Sony, the video was posted on Youtube, but ended up being taken down due to copyright. Despite still being a prototype, it is clear that the technology is already quite advanced and presents very positive results for its creators.

Despite all the enthusiasm of Raghoebardajal, and as it happens with any test involving AI, the debate about voice actors and game developers comes to the fore, which even goes against other games that already use the technology but were criticized for being too artificial, like Exoprimal, developed by Capcom, but did not reveal the use of AI by the company.

So far, Sony has not commented on the removal of the video.
