Players demand urgent changes in Oblivion Remastered: see the most requested.
One week after the release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, the community has already established a robust list of desired improvements for the classic updated by the Bethesda Game Studios in partnership with Virtuos. Although the remaster brought visual improvements to the vibrant landscapes of Cyrodiil and added new mechanics, such as sprinting, several points still generate intense discussion among fans.
Among the most popular suggestions, the following stand out:
Running animation fix: the new sprint feature was well received, but the animation, where the character leans in a strange way, caused visual discomfort. Players are asking for a more natural animation or the option to choose between the current sprint and a more realistic one.
More customization options: requests to add new hair styles, height and weight adjustments, as well as the possibility to change appearance throughout the campaign.
Difficulty adjustments: many consider the Adept mode too easy and the Expert mode excessively punishing. A slider system, similar to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, is widely requested.
"We need difficulty sliders, please! Adept is easy and mindless, but Expert is too grindy." — commented a user on the official Discord.
Official mod support: surprisingly, Oblivion Remastered does not have mod support at launch. Although there are unofficial mods for PC, console users were left without alternatives.
Spell organization: the lack of efficient spell management in the grimoire annoys veteran players, who request tools to hide or remove unused spells.
"A way to remove spells would be essential. With custom spells, the book becomes a mess." — highlighted another player.
Map interface update and Soul Gems identification: improvements in map readability and quick identification of Soul Gems types, a feature already present in Skyrim, are desired.
Performance fixes: although the overall experience is stable, issues like framerate drops, visual bugs, and a recent backend error have affected quality on PC. Bethesda has already confirmed that they are working on updates to address these issues.
Since the surprise release on April 16, Oblivion Remastered has been well explored, with feats such as players crossing the borders of Cyrodiil to explore Valenwood, Skyrim and even Hammerfell, likely setting of The Elder Scrolls VI. Meanwhile, hundreds of mods are already helping PC gamers implement some of the most requested changes, such as corrected running animations and new customization options.
