Phoenix Labs reduces team and focuses on the future of Dauntless and Fae Farm
To Phoenix Labs, known for games like Dauntless and Fae Farm, announced a significant restructuring, resulting in the dismissal of the majority of employees from the studio. Although the exact number of cuts has not been disclosed, the company informed that more details about the impact of this decision on their games will be shared "in the coming weeks."
This decision follows a previous move in May 2024, when Phoenix Labs had already laid off more than 100 employees and canceled all projects in development, aiming to focus their efforts exclusively on Dauntless, a live service game, and Fae Farm, a farm simulator.

The company released the following statement:
"Today is another difficult day at Phoenix Labs. We made the hard decision to say goodbye to most of the studio as part of necessary changes in our operations. We recognize and deeply appreciate the contributions of each impacted individual. Their talent, dedication, and creativity have left an indelible mark on our company and our games.
We will share more details in the coming weeks about what this means for Dauntless and Fae Farm. For now, our focus is on supporting those affected during this transition.
To our industry colleagues, we encourage you to reach out to these exceptional individuals—they are among the best in the sector."
Although the studio is facing challenges, the focus remains on maintaining and potentially expanding the universes of Dauntless and Fae Farm, which continue to be the pillars of the company.
