Phil Spencer has a keen eye on the partnership between Microsoft and Disney!

It is no news that not only Sony, but also Microsoft, and Epic Games, Inc., have been working alongside Disney, with their franchises, which have increasingly taken space in the world of games and this is not likely to change anytime soon.

Knowing this, Phil Spencer praised the partnership being done with Disney, as Microsoft is set to produce not only Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (a franchise of Lucasfilm), but also we have the game about Blade (from Marvel) in production.

"I feel great about our partnership with Lucas and Disney," said Spencer to Game File. "They have been good partners. Obviously, we are doing Blade with Arkane Lyon with them. I was there visiting that team."

During the same interview, Spencer explained that one of the reasons he does not like dealing with licensed titles is that licenses can expire, leading to games being removed from the list over time. Instead, he prefers to focus on IP owned by the umbrella of developers and studios of Microsoft. But for games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Spencer is willing to make some exceptions partly because the developer — MachineGames — has such a strong passion for the property.

"I think what you see in Indiana Jones is a team that really loves Indiana Jones and that world," Spencer reported. "The story is, for me, one of the strongest parts of that game — the way you feel like Indiana Jones from a first-person perspective. So it's clear that it's something they wanted to do. But for us, given the [intellectual property] we have, I'm a big fan of us using IP that we haven't even revisited."

It's good to know that everything is going well and especially that the game is being made by fans of Jones' stories. The game will arrive on December 9th, bringing a completely different adventure than what was expected, in the case of the first-person camera. However, it can indeed be a success and bring more possibilities between Microsoft and Disney!
