Nintendo holds two Direct broadcasts this week
Securing two virtual showcases on consecutive days is an impressive tactic to invigorate the community and focus players’ attention on the catalog's latest additions, although relying on anticipation fueled by unverified rumors remains a rich recipe for disillusionment in the market. Nintendo has announced two editions of the Nintendo Direct to be aired this week: the initial one spotlighting the 40th anniversary celebrations of the The Legend of Zelda series, and the follow-up unveiling fresh details about the Nintendo Switch 2 ecosystem.
The broadcast titled The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th, at 10 a.m. BRT, lasting approximately 30 minutes, and is set to reveal specifics about the anticipated remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The following day, on September 9th, the company will host a conventional 45-minute presentation at 10 a.m., featuring updates on games expected by the end of 2026 and extending the schedule with a Nintendo Treehouse: Live panel.
Hopes for the second event include fresh news on already announced titles for the Nintendo Switch 2, with community bets on names like Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Kingdom Hearts Collection I–III, and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
In parallel, speculations propelled by listings and leakers indicate possible involvement of Monolith Soft in the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, alongside whispers about a new 2D project by Grezzo.

So far, the developer has not officially confirmed any speculation concerning high-definition releases of The Wind Waker HD or Twilight Princess HD, nor the authenticity of leaked images of a themed console edition.
Organizing an exclusive event to honor 40 years of Link’s adventures is an undeniable triumph for Nintendo, enriching its historical legacy and pleasing devoted fans. On the flip side, the lack of clarity regarding the remake’s release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time during the year's last quarter highlights a rigid communication strategy from the publisher, fueling a rumor mill which often results in disappointment during official showcases.
