The Modern Times Group (MTG) recently announced the acquisition of AutoAttack Games through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ninja Kiwi.

Founded in 2014 by director Brent Batas and with the entry of president Julian Gari in 2016, AutoAttack Games is recognized for its work on the tower defense game Legion TD 2, originated from the Warcraft 3 Legion TD mod in 2009.

Legion TD 2 was released in early access in 2017, reaching its full release in 2021.

Although the financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, Julian Gari has already updated his position on LinkedIn to CEO of Ninja Kiwi, stating that he will continue to support Legion TD 2 and expand the team to start developing a new title.

Brent Batas expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting the shared passion between the two companies not only for creating exceptional games, but also for the commitment to supporting communities in the long term.

"The more we got to know Ninja Kiwi, the clearer it became that we share a passion not only for creating amazing games, but also for investing in and supporting our communities in the long term. Combined with Ninja Kiwi's industry-leading presence in the tower defense space, we couldn't imagine a better group of people to partner with."

The CEO of Ninja Kiwi, Scott Walker, emphasized a "close alignment" between the studios, indicating a promising synergy between the teams.

Ninja Kiwi was acquired by MTG in March 2021, solidifying its position as a leader in the tower defense gaming industry.
