New secret PlayStation Studios studio in Los Angeles prepares AAA project
Playstation Studios is expanding its presence with a new studio in Los Angeles, not yet officially announced. Information about its existence emerged in a job posting for a senior producer and in an employee's resume, indicating the development of a AAA exclusive for consoles project.
Rumors suggest that the studio is led by Jason Blundell, former director of Deviation Games, a studio that was closed before releasing any games. According to Insider Gaming, only a few members of the Deviation Games team remained at Sony, including Blundell.
In addition, PlayStation Studios has been adopting expansion strategies in other locations. A team with former employees of Bungie was recently formed, and another unit in San Diego works on established franchises.
The creation of these "secret" studios reflects PlayStation's commitment to new content to compete in the AAA games market. Despite the lack of details about the genre or franchise of the Los Angeles project, the approach keeps fans attentive to upcoming announcements.
With three teams still unnamed or projects undisclosed, it remains to be seen if any of them will be released in 2025, following the example of titles like Astro Bot, revealed and released in a short period of time. Stay tuned for updates for more news about future releases from PlayStation Studios.
