New Resident Evil movie arrives in September 2026
Recently, Sony Pictures and producer Constantin Film officially announced that the next film in the iconic Resident Evil franchise will hit theaters on September 18, 2026, promising to return to the roots of horror, respecting the events of the games. See the announcement by clicking here.
At least that's what the director of the feature film, Zach Cregger, has been promising to fans of the series, that the focus will really be on terror, as well as seeking to make direct references to the first three games of Capcom.
Zach, who directed the legendary Brutal Nights, is one of the darlings of Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures, who considers him one of the most brilliant and exciting directors of today, making him the perfect name to give a new starting point to the story of police officers, zombies, and Raccoon City.
Interestingly, the new Resident Evil film will premiere in the year the franchise turns 30, which undoubtedly is a great gift to fans of the series. Besides the film, will Capcom treat us to Resident Evil 9, as the icing on the cake?
We can only wait for the scenes of the next chapters.
