Netflix has formalized the production of "Clash", an animated series based on the universe of the Clash of Clans and Clash Royale games, from the Finnish developer Supercell. The project marks the entry of the Clash universe into TV in animated format, maintaining the aesthetic and humor typical of the mobile franchises.

The series will be led by Fletcher Moules as showrunner, a professional already involved in marketing campaigns for Supercell itself, and will have Ron Weiner as the main screenwriter - known for his work on series such as "Futurama" and "Silicon Valley". Pre-production is underway, but there is still no official premiere date.

The narrative revolves around a Barbarian displaced from his usual environment, who needs to unite a group of misfit characters to protect his village while facing a deliberately absurd war policy. The tone will be comedic, with episodes focused on the satire of conflicts and power relationships within the fictional universe of Clash.

"A determined Barbarian, but completely out of his comfort zone, must gather a group of misfits to defend his village and deal with the absurdly comical politics of war," summarizes the official plot description.

The announcement was made through a teaser on the official Clash of Clans channel on YouTube, following the trend of Supercell to expand the reach of its IPs beyond games, a strategy that had already been speculated after more elaborate promotional actions in previous campaigns.

Launched in 2012, Clash of Clans remains one of the biggest successes in the history of mobile games, followed by Clash Royale in 2016. Together, the two titles accumulate more than 4 billion downloads and a remarkable 180 billion hours played, according to the most recent data released by the developer.

With the production of Netflix, "Clash" follows the path of other animated adaptations of popular games that have arrived on the platform, such as Arcane (Riot Games) and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (CD Projekt Red). This movement reinforces the trend of transforming interactive universes into transmedia properties, with the potential to reach new audiences.

Despite the enthusiasm of the fan base, the success of the series will depend on Netflix's ability to adapt the material consistently, without diluting the charisma built over more than a decade of legacy on mobile devices.
