Recently, the production underwent reshoots, a process the industry often employs to fix pacing issues, although the official reason given is always to add extra layers to the villain's plot and add more comedic moments. There is always the question of whether this injection of jokes might disrupt the tone of the work and divert focus from the main story. Even with these last-minute adjustments, Tom Holland assured that the effort was worthwhile. The actor was quite direct in stating, “The movie is already the best Spider-Man film we have made.” It's the kind of standard statement actors memorize for marketing campaigns, so audiences need to keep expectations well-managed until they see the result projected on the screen.

A recently released synopsis added a bit of intrigue to the story, describing the antagonist as a powerful villain that no one can even see. This corroborates the first trailer, which kept the identity of this threat under absolute secrecy, a strategy that could backfire if the revelation is not justified by the script.

In an interview given in April to Esquire magazine, Tom Holland detailed that the work will have an investigation-oriented atmosphere. This shift towards the detective genre seems a curious and necessary choice to refresh the worn-out formula of superhero movies. “This film is a true mystery, and for much of the time, even Spider-Man himself is somewhat lost and puzzled, thinking ‘What is going on?’” explained the lead actor. He further added by saying: “We are just trying to find ways to make this movie feel like a detective film.” It remains to be seen whether the direction can sustain this investigative premise throughout the entire projection without resorting to the usual easy outs.
