More content coming for COD: Black Ops 6 Zombies!
Last year, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, we had a zombies mode, however not as engaging as the previous ones seen in the franchise. The mode was even set aside after a few seasons, which was a bit sad, since the story was also interesting.
This time we can see that everything will be different, with Black Ops 6 already arriving with 2 zombies maps and its first season, which arrived earlier this month, bringing a new map next week.
The new DLC Citadelle des Morts next month. This is more than just a new map for Zombies in Black Ops 6, as Citadelle des Morts represents a fundamental development in the ongoing narrative of Zombies, as it blends some of the existing stories from Treyarch that previously had no connection. Here's what you need to know before the map arrives on December 5.
Trailer:
The final scene of the Terminus map's story shows several names, and if you haven't played Black Ops 4 or Vanguard Zombies, these mentions may not mean anything to you, but for long-time fans it connects all the stories in an intriguing way.
Spoilers ahead: the final scenes of Terminus reveal that Edward Richtofen is seeking the Prima Materia and the Sentinel Artifacts, which are the main elements of the Chaos story from Treyarch.
In 2018, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introduced a completely new set of Zombie characters for the Chaos storyline, which, until now, was not connected to the Aether storyline involving the original cast of Zombies from Edward Richtofen, Takeo Masaki, Tank Dempsey, and Nikolai Belinsk. The Chaos character cast of Black Ops 4 pursued Sentinel Artifacts, which were relics created by a substance extracted from the Earth known as Prima Materia.
In Black Ops 4, Prima Materia is revealed as a substance that brought so much power that it corrupted and destroyed entire civilizations. It's no surprise that Richtofen is seeking this kind of power, but it could have catastrophic consequences if he obtains possession of a Sentinel Artifact. It is also revealed that a Sentinel Artifact may be able to harness the power needed to bring Samantha Maxis back from the Dark Aether. Samantha Maxis sacrificed herself in the final scene of Black Ops Cold War Zombies to seal the breach of the Dark Aether and stop the Zombie boss called Forsaken.
This part of the cutscene shows some interesting names, but it is also a bit confusing. Chronologically, Sergei Ravenov was last seen helping the crew of the Terminus to stop the Outbreak incursions in Black Ops Cold War. Gabriel Krafft, on the other hand, was a demonologist in Vanguard Zombies who studied these Sentinel Artifacts. He was shown as a very old man during World War II, so it will be interesting to see how the story explains that he is still alive in 1991.
Treyarch even teases this for the trailer reveal, referring to Krafft as "the man who shouldn't be alive". Perhaps Kraftt resorted to using some kind of relic for himself.
The mystery of Kraftt's survival and the search for a Sentinel Artifact make Season 1 of Black Ops an exciting time to be a Zombies fan. Now we will play as the Terminus team, which is heading to a castle in Europe to rescue Gabriel Krafft from Vanguard, from a dangerous syndicate to help locate the Sentinel Artifact from Black Ops 4 before the powerful relic falls into the hands of Edward Richtofen. The Terminus team not only wants to stop Richtofen, but now they are seeking to use the power for themselves to bring Samantha Maxis back.
The first trailer was shown, with more characters and a map that will definitely take place in Avalon. Now, we have to wait for the updates coming to the game, which will surely bring more story and interest to the game!
