While the Resident Evil 4 remake continues to have solid sales, the biggest highlight at the beginning of 2025 for Capcom goes by another name: Monster Hunter Wilds. Released on February 28, 2025, the title surpassed the impressive milestone of 10.1 million units sold in just four weeks, establishing itself as one of the most successful recent releases from the publisher.

The performance of Monster Hunter Wilds already places it among the most profitable titles of the company, following the success of the franchise since the landmark Monster Hunter: World, which propelled the series to a global audience. With refined combat mechanics, dynamic open-world environments, and full integration with online cooperative gameplay, the game follows the path of constant evolution that Capcom has been promoting in its main franchises.

Meanwhile, the Resident Evil 4 remake, released in March 2023, also reached the milestone of 10 million units sold, according to a recent statement from the company. In just the first three months of 2025, the game sold over 700 thousand copies, trailing only behind Wilds in commercial performance during the same period.

Other titles from the Resident Evil portfolio continue to generate significant revenue. In the first three months of this year:

Resident Evil 2 Remake: over 400 thousand units sold

Resident Evil Village: over 400 thousand units sold

Resident Evil 3 Remake: 300 thousand units

Resident Evil 7: 300 thousand units

Resident Evil 3 Remake is now approaching 10 million units sold since its release, while Resident Evil 7 is about to reach the 15 million mark, establishing itself as the longest-running title in the series in terms of accumulated sales.

Capcom continues to demonstrate strength in its catalog, balancing new releases like Wilds with the power of its historical lineup through technically consistent remakes. The success of both sides of the portfolio makes it clear that the strategy of revitalizing classics while driving expanding franchises continues to generate significant commercial results.
