MindsEye showcases urban pursuit before the June release

After a previous teaser focused on armed combat, MindsEye received a new gameplay that highlights another central element of the game's proposal: vehicle driving in dense urban environments. The video shows the protagonist Jacob in a chase through the city streets, with dynamic camera and fluid movement, highlighting the studio's effort to refine the vehicular mechanics — a key element for a title with narrative aspirations and open-world action.

The game is scheduled to be released on June 10, 2025 and is a project by Leslie Benzies, former producer of Grand Theft Auto, developed under the label of Build a Rocket Boy, the same company behind the ambitious online hub Everywhere. MindsEye will be a single-player title within this universe, accessible as an independent experience within the larger platform.

Despite the positive reception to the visual of the new teaser, the content released is superficial. The urban chase scene serves more as a technical showcase of the driving system than as a concrete sample of the final gameplay. The short teaser shows Jacob at high speed dodging vehicles, without revealing if the sequence is interactive or scripted.

In the previous preview, released in April, the team presented a section of armed combat, with shootouts in an arid region with desert architecture. The character's movement, use of cover, and visual effects were compared by part of the audience to titles from Naughty Dog, but without the same technical refinement demonstrated so far by AAA competitors.

The setting of MindsEye combines futuristic and urban elements with scenarios inspired by the American West. The focus is on cinematic narrative action, with exploration, combat, and vehicle driving. The studio has not yet confirmed which platforms will receive the game, nor the initial price — which raises questions considering the proposed scope and the complexity of integration with Everywhere.

It remains to be seen if, by the release, more relevant content will be revealed. The project has potential, but so far it leans more on the expectations generated by the name of Benzies than on its own merit.
