MindsEye details game modes and post-launch schedule
A Build a Rocket Boy has released a new overview trailer for MindsEye, their ambitious open-world action project set to be released on June 10, 2025. The video, filled with explosions and urban combat set in the fictional city of Redrock, also unveiled the game's three core modes and a post-launch roadmap. The title will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders already available on major platforms.
Among the key highlights, the studio presented the three pillars that make up the MindsEye experience, promising to "democratize game development" and provide "a home for endless content". They are:
Main Campaign: a linear narrative mode centered around Jacob Diaz, the protagonist involved in a story of conspiracy, corruption, and intense action. The trailer shows chases, explosions, shootouts, and cinematic moments.
Build.MindsEye: a creative mode that allows players to create their own experiences using accessible in-house tools, focusing on missions, modes, and even mini-games. The proposal is similar to platforms like Dreams and Roblox, but with more robust features aimed at more complex experiences.
Play.MindsEye: a persistent open world, with continuous updates of premium content developed directly by Build a Rocket Boy. The studio promises regular events, new activities, and an integrated free exploration and multiplayer experience.
The studio has not yet revealed details about monetization or integration between modes, but confirmed that there will be continuous support after launch, focusing on expanding Play.MindsEye and new assets for creators within Build.MindsEye. There is still no information about support for external mods or cross-platform compatibility, important issues considering the title's creative focus.
The proposal of MindsEye had already gained attention previously, when the studio — founded by Leslie Benzies, former president of Rockstar North and producer of the Grand Theft Auto franchise — was accused of trying to create a "GTA killer". The comparison intensified after previous trailers, which showed a similar aesthetic to GTA V, but with science fiction elements and more complex content creation systems.
If they can deliver what they promise, MindsEye could become a new hub of creation within AAA games, combining traditional campaign, creative community, and continuous support. The title is part of the Everywhere ecosystem, a larger platform envisioned by the studio, which has not yet had technical details deeply disclosed.
