Matthew Bromberg is appointed as the new CEO of Unity
The renowned technology company for game development, Unity, announced Matthew Bromberg as its new CEO, succeeding Jim Whitehurst, interim CEO. Bromberg, with extensive experience at Electronic Arts and Zynga, will take on the role on May 15.
Prior to this, Bromberg led BioWare at Electronic Arts and oversaw the company's mobile business. He later served as COO at Zynga. He expressed enthusiasm in leading Unity into its next stage of development.
Under the interim leadership of Whitehurst, Unity faced challenges, including controversies surrounding monetization plans and a restructuring that resulted in job cuts. The financial results for the first quarter of 2024 will be disclosed on May 9.
The Unity recently announced the release of Unity 6 Preview, previously known as 2023.3 Tech Stream, marking the final development cycle for Unity 6, scheduled to be released by the end of this year.
This version brings a series of updates and new features, built upon the updated naming conventions that were announced in Unity last November.
Unity 6 Preview is structured as a version of the Tech Stream, offering support for projects in discovery or prototyping stages, allowing users to explore and utilize new and updated features in their projects.
