Leaks in the gaming industry are nothing new, but what recently happened goes beyond any common case of leaked images or videos. This time, the actual development builds of several unreleased games have surfaced online – a serious blow to the studios involved.

The information came from insider Tom Henderson, who reported that confidential files from multiple games were sent to a Discord server focused on data mining. This practice is usually used to search through game codes and discover unreleased content, such as secret characters, hidden mechanics, or even future DLCs.

But in this case, the leak reached another level. Five titles have already been identified, including major productions like Killing Floor 3 and 2XKO, the highly anticipated fighting game from Riot Games, which features characters from League of Legends as fighters.

The leaked games so far:

Killing Floor 3 (Tripwire Interactive)

2XKO (Riot Games)

PLAYERUNKNOWN Prologue: Go Wayback (PUBG Studios)

ARC Raiders (Embark Studios)

Delta Force Hawk Ops (initial version of the Delta Force franchise reboot)

According to reports from users on Discord, the initial intention behind the leak was not to illegally distribute the games, but rather to allow access for data mining. However, some of these builds have little protection, which could lead to unrestricted online dissemination.

This type of leak not only harms the involved studios, but it can also directly impact the development of the games. If the files fall into the wrong hands, there is a risk of unauthorized modifications, creation of hacks, and even loss of surprises planned for the release.

So far, none of the involved developers has officially commented on the leaks. However, Riot Games had previously faced similar issues, such as in the case of League of Legends, where files containing future skins and mechanics were extracted before the official announcement.

The question now is: how far will these leaks go? If the builds actually start circulating on the internet, it is possible that companies will take severe legal actions, as has already happened in previous cases involving sensitive data of games still in production.
